The melodies, rhythms and words sung that marked daily life - work, party time, rituals ... – of Portuguese rural communities from different geographies will integrate the musical programme of the concert “O Canto dos DIAS”, which will be further enriched with Filipa Malva’s costumes that result from a remarkable research work.

Until October 2nd, make sure you visit the exhibition “Paisagem sonora: a Gaita de Foles” (“Soundscape: the Bagpipe”), held at Museu da Música Mecânica, since March, and a result of a partnership with Museu Municipal de Palmela.
Since then, Museu da Música Mecânica, the only one in the country, has been the setting of a series of initiatives in partnership with the Municipality of Palmela, which have been raising diverse audiences’ awareness to the universe of Music. Amongst the events that have already been carried out, we highlight the Instrument Experimentation Workshop, the Traditional Ball on the International Museum Day, the programme “Férias a Crescer”, participation in FIG (International Festival of Giants), visits of county schools, among others.
These initiatives are part of Palmela's application process to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network - “Palmela é Música”.
