As part of the "Sound Landscape: Bagpipes" Exhibition, on April 13th, Palmela’s Town Hall will organize a "Workshop of Pianos and Bagpipes Tuning", coordinated by Sons da Música Workshop (Victor Félix and Mário Estanislau ). The initiative will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Museu da Música Mecânica (Museum of Mechanical Music) in Pinhal Novo.
Participation is free (upon prior registration on a first-come, first-served basis), and the workshop will be held with a minimum of eight and a maximum of 12 participants. "Sound Landscape: Bagpipes" will be open until October 2nd, in the Temporary Exhibitions Room of Museu da Música Mecânica. The exhibition introduces the history and the making process of the bagpipe, musicians and repertoires, “círios” (popular pilgrimages) and bagpipers. It can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (closed on Easter Sunday), and you can have access to it by presenting your museum admission ticket.
The exhibition was organized by Palmela’s Town Hall, in partnership with Museu da Música Mecânica, FIG – Festival Internacional de Gigantes (International Festival of Giants), Associação Portuguesa para o Estudo e Disseminação da Gaita de Foles (Portuguese Association for the Study and Dissemination of the Bagpipe), Círio dos Olhos d'Água, Círio da Carregueira and Bardoada - Sarrafo Group.
The initiative is part of "Palmela é Música", Palmela’s application to join the UNESCO's Creative Cities Network, in the field of music.
