The 6th edition of Palmela Wine Jazz, which will take place next weekend (19th-21st July), will turn the Castle of Palmela into the perfect place for those who like to enjoy good music while tasting the best wines of the region. The programme highlights the performance of the jazz singer Maria João, on July 20th, at 10.30 pm, in Igreja de Santa Maria.
Famous for her vocal flexibility and improvisation ability, Maria João incorporates a mix of folk/ethnic, modern jazz, Brazilian music, avant-garde, electronic, symphonic and other styles into her music. In Palmela, the artist will introduce her latest adventure, "OGRE", a musical hybrid that mixes jazz with electronic music.
For three days, there are concerts taking place in three different areas (Bobo da Corte, Igreja de Santa Maria and Terraço Sul, where the "Concerts with Wine" will be held). In addition to the performances of Maria João, Isabel Rato Quinteto, Loosense, Body & Soul, Sexteto Palmela Six Jazz, Rúben Garção Duo, Quarteto Desidério Lázaro and Quarteto Edgar Caramelo, and Karl Heinz & The Ketchups concert make the programme even richer.
You can enjoy relaxing late afternoons while listening to jazz, taste or buy wine at one of the 15 wine cellars represented here, benefit from special offers and promotions, taste wine while listening to the comments of enologists, go to a wine bar and try street food.
